Kenmore dryer not advancing

Kenmore dryer 110.63012100. I am going on this call this evening and customer said it will not stop running and it is taking a lot more time to dry than it use to. Based on the timer not advancing I immediately thought to check the timer to see if it is getting voltage or not and if not trace backwards, check the resistor if it is the one with it and I was going to check for a grounded or bad heater. The not heating good along with the timer not advancing is not a symptom I have encountered so I wanted to see what thoughts you guys had. What about the cycling stat, could it cause this?

1. Timer does not advance in timed or auto dry modes.
2. Dryer just continously runs until manually shut off.
2. Gets hot but taking longer than normal to dry.
3. While running you can open the door and when you close it back it does not automatically start running again, you must push the start button.

if not advancing in timed & auto cycle, you need timer, if not just advancing in auto, check heating problems

This is one of them 4 wheel drive models which means it has auto dryness sensing bars. Yank out this board and clean the contacts then re install it before you order a timer:

Flip up the controls like a washer to access the control components.

I will have to order the timer if its bad anyway so when i go there this evening to check it I will clean the contacts on that board and see what happens. Gotta open the console anyway to check power on the black wires of the timer so might as well.

I cleaned the contacts on that board very well and that didnt do it. thanks for that tip, I will definitely keep that in mind though for other ones when I have to work on them. Ended up having to replace the timer, tear it apart, even had to take all the,rollers off cause there was so much hair and stuff wrapped around the shafts and then clean a foot of lint out of it. Haha.
