Kenmore washer 110.28912790 - replaced coupler and now worse...help?

Take you motor off. Keep the motor wires connected and turn it on and see if it turns the motor without being hooked up to the tranny.

Sigh, not sure how much more trouble this washer is worth.  It is probably 10-15 years old.  Wish I could find a good, honest repairman in north Atlanta...

Guys I been busy today. Had a washer out back with same symptoms. Ordered a new clip. Instead of the original part I get a c clamp with dimples. Yuck! Had to modify the clamp by removing some of the dimples on each end of the C clamp with a flat file. Made a movie of the final fix before putting the whole thang back together. The motor which was good enough for wash mode was a limp puppy on spin. I checked it with my motor checker (an old head off of a Kenmore washer) and all was well. The plasti-tronic wonder of a timer in that washer had went south. What to do? Numerous problemas to say the least. SOOOO... this afternoon me and Larry made a good washer out of 2 sick ones. He had a severe leaker with good controls, motor and pump. We took the back with/ controls and the motor & pump off the leaker and added that to my base. Success. I made a movie on my phone but my bluetooth skills ain't too kosher. We won't go there. I did manage to make a movie of my brake cam driver repair:

Well since you replace the coupler, you have already had the motor off. Nothing to it.

Okay, finally gave up as we needed our washer now!  It's been two weeks and since this washer is 20+ years old, I just bought a new washer and dryer last night to be delivered tomorrow.  It is also Kenmore but a model made by Samsung.  The salesman was interesting...said some Kenmore washer/dryers had been made in Mexico but quality was so poor they stopped that.  Many now made in North Korea but some Mexico models still being offered until they are gone.

Thanks to all of you for your advice.  I gave it a shot but time ran out...
