What's it take to start a appliance repair business?
« on: December 07, 2011, 10:18:58 AM »
I can't believe I'm even thinking about this or asking about it online, but I'm wondering what it take to start a appliance repair business?

I'm consider myself pretty handy. I know how to use a multimeter and turn a screwdriver.
I'm no expert at reading wiring diagrams, but the few I have had to look at for help did not seem that hard to figure out.

I try and help out friends and family fix things when ever I can and word gets around to call me if you need something fixed.

It started out just fixing things for family members, then friends of family members and now friends of friends call me too, lol

I don't have a full time job and had this crazy idea in my head that maybe I could start a appliance repair business.

Any other ladies out there doing this type of work?
Do you think people will be shocked when the lady that took there call on the phone is the same person that shows up at there door to fix there washer?

I have so many questions at this point...

Hi Candy. I started in the appliance repair business about 4 years ago (wish I would have done it 20 years ago). My first step was to study this course. It will give you the basics and the rest is on the job training. Ask any questions you have.http://www.rakerappliancerepair.com/?gclid=CNSNnaaI8awCFYvDKgodbS7Jiw

Thanks Major. Do any of the appliance manufactures like Whirlpool offer training?
