GE Profile Triton Dishwasher not draining

I'm trying to repair a GE Profile Triton Dishwasher.  It doesn't drain well even after I cleaned the filters, checked the drain hose and installed a new pump. Now I'm looking at the body check valve and the piston nut assembly. I found a rubber flap inside the body valve that looked worn and pulled it out but the problem persists throughout these efforts to resolve the draining issue. So should I replace the check valve assembly and piston nut? What do you think?

Are you getting risidual water in the tub after wash?  or not cleaning correctly?

Piston not seating correctly is a common drain problem.

Yes, there is residual water up to and even over the heating element. I usually have to go through several cycles to drain it down to a normal level. To do this I have to run the drain hose into a pan or bucket on the floor rather than the dedicated drain pipe it normally attaches to. It is the only way to get water out of it.

Is there an air gap?  If so it may be clogged and need cleaning.  Is this a new install and attached to the disposer?  If so did the knock out get punched out?

This is not a new install. There is no air gap to clean. I had been working for years without fail.

Had to ask...those are common problems especially if you have to drain into a bucket, outside of the normal drain.  If all drain lines are clear  as well as the sump the piston/nut assembly is a very good bet.  You can visually check just by unscrewing it.  If it doesn't seat well there will be backflow into the tub.
