Oil leak on floor from washer/dryer combo.

I live in an apartment unit with a Frigidaire washer/dryer (one on top of the other) combo.

I was doing a load of laundry today in the washer, and I noticed that there is a huge pool of oil (greenish-brownish slime) leaking onto the floor. There are no stains on my clothes. I took off the front panel after this, and see that there is NO oil in the transmission area, but there's a huge pool on the bottom of the washer, leaking on to the floor.

I know I gave very slim details here, but what possibilities could be causing this? I did some searching online, and it seems that it would be worse if it's the transmission. But the transmission area is baby clean!
