Frigidaire SxS compressor short cycling

Frigidaire SxS FRS6L7EESN is not cooling freezer or fridge side. Freezer about 20 and fridge 50. Noticed the compressor would kick on for about 5-10 seconds and then off for about 1 minute. Took off the relay-overload-run capacitor assembly and could hear it rattling. Checked the compressor and common to start was 3.8 ohm, common to run was 5.8 ohm, and start to run was 9.5 ohm. This makes me feel the compressor windings are ok. Ordered new relay-overload-run capacitor assembly and will install once it arrives and see it that fixes it.

The clicking noise is the compressor overload kicking in and out due to over current draw because the compressor is not starting. If the start relay rattles when you shake it then it is gone and needs replacement. These are solid state devices with no moving parts. checking the windings is a good idea to confirm no opens or shorts occured because of the failure of the relay, but you have to remember that a mechanicaly stuck compressor will give good readings also. The winding readings should always add up, 3 pins, common to start reading + common to run reading = total reading start to run (with some slight variance)
You are deffinetly on the right track and a new relay should cure your problem.

I was thinking to use my fluke ammeter to determine if the compressor is locked up before replacing the part. I was thinking I could test to see what kind of amps it is trying to draw when starting. Is this a valid test to see if the compressor is binded or locked up inside?

Checked amps when the compressor was trying to start and it was ok so I replaced the relay-overload and she fired off and started cooling.
