Maytag Dryer not heating.

Hello, I am having issues with a Maytag Perfoma Gas Dryer not heating.

the model number is MDG2500BWW

Everything else seems to be working fine aside from the timer, which to my understanding will not advance if the heating unit is not working properly.

When I turn the dryer on it heats up at first, to the point I can open the dryer and the cloths are hot, but after a little bit it seems to stop heating all together.

When I opened the dryer up I watched the heating unit, it would kick on for about 10 seconds and then shut off.

I cleaned out all the lint from the dryer and the venting. Still no improvement. Any ideas?

Chris one very common problem is the solenoids overheat with age and quit. The ignitor works and the sensor is working, and the control thermostat does call for heat so the fuse ain't blown. The only other thang in the circuit is them solenoids.

Gas dryers shoot out short bursts of heat at a time. The video in the link below shows the duration of a typical burn.

I would replace both coils. I looked up your model number and it uses These Coils
