kitchen aid dishwasher not working

model KUDL03IVBL4
unit was 1 year old in august (bumper to bumper expired)
however years 2 to 5 electronic parts are covered parts only (no labor)
problem is panel lights flash but unit will not start a wash cycle
when i press cancel button it sounds like it wants to start but then all the panel lights flash and it makes a noise like it wants to start the motor.
is there a series of buttons i can press to run in test mode?

sequence heated dry / normal / heated dry / normal within 6 seconds
to rapid advance test program, hit start/resume

okay
looks like it may be the fuse or control panel
should i order both?
parts are warranted

? If the thermal fuse was open, it'd be DOA
? If the parts are under warranty I don't believe you can get them 'free' w/o a service call w/handling thru an authorized WPL servicer (I could be wrong there, I'd give Kitchen Aid customer service a call to see)
