This is already starting to be a busy day. I got a desperate call from a customer that their Kenmore electric oven won't work. Don't know if I can save Thanksgiving for them but they were happy that I'm coming by around 8am to see what can be done.
At the stroke of midnight, Black Friday starts. LET THE RAT RACE BEGIN!!!
How did that turn out for you?
Do you charge double time on holidays?
Time for some more pie
Kenmore range 79099129400 Control board shorted out. Quoted $600.00 estimate. Customer declined. Customer to cut up raw turkey and cook in tabletop microwave/convection oven. Then go out to purchase replacement stove on Black Friday. Charged the customer my normal service call fee of $80.00 and they gave me $100.00 because I showed up on Thanksgiving morning.
As I was on my way home, I got another call. Decided to answer it. Customer's Frigidair FEB27T6DSA upper oven not working but bottom one is. Was close by my house so I went. Pulled the double oven out of cabinetry and found wire female connector had burned itself off but the element connector was still intact. Replaced connector and got uppr oven to work once again. Pushed the oven back into cabinetry and was done in 40 minutes. My bill was $160.00 and the lady gave me $200.00, a great big hug and 4 free movie theater tickets. Says that I'm her superhero for saving Thanksgiving.
Sigh, I love getting that warm and fuzzy feeling in this business. Makes life more enjoyable.
