The next thing is you need to inspect this little part here pictured. To get to it you need to remove the agitator and you need to remove the tranny. Once the agitator is removed the tranny will just slide out when its 3 bolts are removed. This part here has an ear on it that catches the clutch and releases the brake so that the tub can spin.

That ear will break off and that can cause it not to spin.

OK, will do. I take it that I should see that little ear still intact if it is still good?

The next thing we gonna have to do if all of that is good is see what this spin pawl looks like. Don't worry it is tricky but pretty easy to fix.

So I have the agitaer off, what now. Is there a video or an explanation some where that will help me. I've searched the forums for "removing transmission, but I could not find anything.

all you gotta do now is remove them bolts on the bottom of the tranny that attach it to the machine and slide it out.

those 3 bolts come out. You have removed the pump and motor and carefully layed the washer on it's side right?

I have an appliance lift and a heavy work bench in my shop . It makes it real easy to work on without laying on the ground. I am too old to be laying on the floor.

Ok, I did not move the washer on it's side, I leaned it back against the wall. I removed the transmission, and the white ear piece is split in two. Is it supposed to be like that?
