So I have the agitaer off, what now. Is there a video or an explanation some where that will help me. I've searched the forums for "removing transmission, but I could not find anything.
Ike

take a look in the far left column
<
<
look for videos, Washer Videos page 1

of the 9 videos displayed look at the one in the lower left corner (watch them all, later, even on Washer Videos page 2)

the guy removed it with one hand (other hand holding camcorder)

edit: sorry, I was responding to a question on page1, didn't see the page 2  :o

I tried moving the white piece like the video showed. It moved like the video, but it was very hard to move in the counter clock wise direction. There is no evidence of oil leaking out of the transmission. The shaft will not turn when i turn the shaft where the coupler goes onto.

They are hard to turn as you are turning the inside wash basket as you turn that. A lot of weight is on there to turn.

You should be able to turn it. I would say the tranny is bad.

The small shaft were the motor coupler goes on should turn fairly easy. Wish I would have shown that in the video. Guess I will have to make another one showing the too. Leave the black rubber piece on the half of the coupler that is still on the tranny. Then put a flat blade screwdriver in one of the slots of the rubber coupler and turn it around each direction. Turning it one way you will see the long shaft at the top of the tranny agitate back and fourth. Turn it the other way and you will see the clutch that is on top the tranny spin in one direction.

Enter that part number in the RepairClinic box in the top right of this site and they have it for $145.00

Buying the part from repairclinic also helps support this site. :)

I've tried turn the shaft and no go. If I had the time to mail order, I would definetly use this site's supplier, but this machine has been down a few days, and I may be out of town next week.

Sounds like you found the trouble. :)

Sometimes local parts places work out best when they have the part in stock and the job can be finished the same day.

Please keep us posted..
