Dead Whirlpool LER8858EZ2 Dryer, not what I suspected.

This dryer would not start. I checked the power to the dryer, the Thermal Fuse and the Door Switch only to find nothing wrong.
I took a look at the wiring diagram to see what contacts should be closed and started checking the timer with my ohm meter.

I had found a faulty timer contact. After replacing the timer with a new one, part # 3976570 the dryer worked great!

thats happen to me bunch of times, now i just remove 2 screws holding timer, shake timer & if it rattles , replace it....

Good tip!
I notice sometimes the bad ones rattles for me and sometimes they don't.
Of coarse if it rattles it's a sure sign it's bad.
