Sears 110.28912790 washer no longer spins

This Sears  110.28912790 washer would no longer spin.
Durring the spin cycle the washer would not do anything.

I opened and closed the washer lid as I listened for the clicking sound of a working lid switch.
I could not hear the lid switch clicking on and off so I suspected a faulty lid switch to be the problem.

I removed the washer cabinet so I could inspect the lid switch and sure enough it was bad. The plastic body was cracked.
After replacing the lid switch with a new one, part # 3949238 I put the washer cabinet back on and tested the washer.

With the new lid switch installed the washer worked great!
