Figidair dryer LEQ2152ES0 will not start

Today I get a call from the wife, dryer will not start.

I found this post http://appliancejunk.com/forums/index.php?topic=2333.0 on the same model and got the technical manual.

I followed the "function test sequence" on page 8 and everything checks out. Motor runs, heat comes on, lights all work, door switch, sensor bars, thermistor, buttons, EVERYTHING passes.

Also, I follow instructions to retrieve error code, but none are present.

Continuing through the manual I get to the troubleshooting flowcharts. Following the "Electric dryer completely inoperative" chart 1) the start button DOES beep; 2) There is NO error code, so I'm instructed to check the voltage between pin 1&2 on J4. Once I figured out those pins were on the back of the control board I check them with the door closed and get 130VAC, with the door open I get ~5VAC. The flowchart says that this means that the control board is bad (as opposed to the door switch).

Now, I understand that the control board is $$$. BUT...the function test sequence checks out, seriously what's going on. I'm super handy with a soldering iron, could there be something I could try to replace (relay) that might be the real problem?

The thing is the dryer is no different than any other Frigidaire ever made so their is no energy savings involved. Dried clothes is dried clothes. The NASA control engineered piece of garbage that cost tons of money in the name of energy savings is pretty Chaldean if ya ask me.

Yeah, I realized that as soon as I got the top panel off. What gets me is that all the diagnosis checks out, but it doesn't work.

I have  a GE in the back yard that checks out also but will not start up.

Did you check the thermal fuse? Upper right hand corner of the rear bulkhead.

Thanks for that suggestion. I checked out all other electrics after you posted that. Everything seems fine, then I go back to check the board and no matter which way I do it, the flowchart says the board is bad. I took the board out and had a close look at it. My guess is that thee is a relay on the board, adjacent to L4, that is not working. I'd love to swap it out, but it may be more trouble than it's worth...
