LG Dryer long dry time
« on: October 24, 2011, 03:55:16 PM »
Model: DLG2526W
Anyone have a tech sheet or service manual for this model?  They are having long dry times.  Dissasembled and it's very clean, blower good, all components check out, good flame, etc. and venting is clear.  Told them to try using the time dry for awhile and see if it makes a difference.  Could not find tech sheet with the unit so would like to know how to run a diagnostic.  sensor is clean and checks out.  Do these unit's have problems with the coils closing when they get hot like whirlpool's?
Thanks

make sure the dryer is venting properly first.  that said, i have had one that was fixed by changing the valve and coils.  not sure if it was the same model as this, but the coils were not available.  had to by the whole valve.  haven't heard back from the customer and its been a while.

Looks like only the gas valve on this one too. I think he'll let it go for now. Thanks!

Still looking for tech sheet or manual for this model closest I can find is DLG2525...are the test's the same?  Would love to put it into diagnostic mode.  Customer just called and no heat at all now.  Will start with basics but would like to verify the control board as well.
Thanks

The valve resistance is 1995 ohms and the ignitor is 185.

Thanks JW, looks like the thermistor should read normal resistance as most...just bother's me I can't get into diagnostic...I have not worked on many  LG so would love it if there was a tech sheet in the machine...oh well, piece by piece I'll figure it out:)
Cheers

Fearless leader has a bunch of the manuals. I have 30 or fourty manuals and I have compared many of them. They all seem to be the same:

I haven't read that many but a half dozen or so and figure the spec's are all pretty much the same so I can isolate the components and work from there.  Just love those diagnostic's (when they work).  Thanks JW!

Have been talking with a DIYer tonight about a bad timer on a Fridgedaire washer/stackable...anyway would you double check what I've been telling him is putting him on the right track...been a long couple day's Halloween, and running calls for another company while he is having a grandbaby while his son is out of country (military)  getting a little punchy:)

All LG gas dryers are pretty much the same.  The test modes doesn't do much.  Never used the test mode.  It just comes naturally that if no heat, check the hi limit and work your way from there.

Will do...finally got some sleep so am feeling a little more clear in the head for what that's worth.  I'll let ya know, I'm leaning towards hi limit w/ the reset, thermistor, or coils (new valve $$$)...who wants odds :)

Thanks Folks
