Customer complaint: fridge was at 50 degrees and ice cream was getting warm, they unplugged it once for a couple minutes and it worked for a few days.
Initiall look over: condenser fan running, compressor not running, evap fan not running, they recently cleaned the cond. coils. uplugged let sit 30 seconds then back on...same scenario. Unplugged for 30 seconds turned thermastat off and pluged back in, could hear ice cracking in evap. section assumed it was defrosting. pulled fridge out checked for 120 at compressor- good, start relay sounds good, compressor is hot but not out of hand, ohmed out comressor R & S at 7 (1-6 per spec.) C 13 (6-11 per spec.) little high but figured it was ok, all open to ground. Put back together and plugged back in click and started running. Checked evap fan still not running and compressor had shut down but cond fan still running. took off back panel of freezer and looks good little ice in vent cleared that out. Went to ADC good voltage to it some voltage's speratic per schematic from what I could tell (never had to test one indepth before) . shorted 1 & 2 and it went into defrost with cond. fan still running. Decided I would try a new ADC
in case something was screwy with it put everything back together to go get the part and everything took off running perfectly. Waited about 20 minutes and still everything great both fans running, compressor running, good air flow and temp's dropping. Have no idea what I did whether it was a loose connection that I somehow tightened or what. Told the customer to watch it for a few days and let's see what happens. Still wondering if I have a bad ADC, loose wire in the harness somewhere or weak and almost dead compressor.
Any thought's? Thanks
