model LFC22740SB   ser 711MRZL12357    Month ago unit had shut down just stopped cooling, replace ref thermistor ,out of range and control board. number on board is ebr36222901. Customer called noise, evap iced up on top, fan hitting defrosted everything checks, what do i have going on. I am open to ideas.

You may have a problem with the Defrost Controller Assm  6615JB2005C.  You can either replace it or reposition the sensor higher up so that it doesn't stop the defrost process too soon.

You mentioned that you replaced the control board.  What was the part number on the new board??

I put the numbers of the board above. I thought about resetting the defrost sensor but it is not frosting up at this time? I have reset some of them but what do they have going on, I am running into a lot of these with frost and freezing issues. Is it because all there thermistors are rated different. They are really starting to make me say bad words. And most times all electrical tests out?

What I'm seeing in the past is the control boards goes into defrost and afterwards, the freezer starts up right along the evaporator fan motor.  The problem was that the evap fan motor is still wet and throws water all around the evaporator creating ice buildup close to the fan motor.  The new boards are supposed to run the compressor for a few minutes followed by the evaporator fan motor kicking on so that this problem is significantly reduced. 

I usually, reposition the defrost controller up higher so that the heater will stay on a little longer to dry out the evaporator.

LG doesn't give the new boards and different part number.  They just use the old part number and tell us that it's the revised edition.  So you gotta trust that you got the revised edition.


We were told in our annual training meetings with LG.

Did you end up replacing the Defrost Controller Assm  6615JB2005C to repair it?

I moved the sensor up to the top of the evap. Never got a call back on it, and I would if it was not working correctly. Control was working .As designed.
