Whirlpool Duet Sport Dryer not working correctly

My brother gave me his set of Whirlpool Duet Sport Washer & Dryer.  The set is from 2006 but it was only used for maybe 2 years total.  Before we got it to my house all worked PERFECT at my brothers... now the washer works great but the dryer is having issues.  It turns on, spins for maybe 5 seconds then takes a 5 minute break before it comes back on for 5 seconds.  And this is how it works through the full cycle... spins for 5 second intervals....and heats while spinning...  I have NOT gotten any error messages....
HELP I really like this set but for the life of my can't figure out why the dryer is freaking out....!!!!!  Thank you for any advice!!!

So I ran the diagnostics and got F26 code which apparently means: "Motor Drive System Failure"
Does anyone know how this can be fixed?   Thanks a million!!!
