Maytag msd2556aea ice door staying open

i have had this happen on the last one i had and it melted to solenoid and the area where it mounts. I just got some good parts to fix my ice and water on the door. But it doesn't shut after it opens. I am thinking of taking and running the door solenoid in series with the auger control (pink) wire. Will this work ok ? TIA

The rubber pad gets stiff and won't release the switch.  Part number is 61003410.

OK, more info, the light doesn't stay on, and the water when selected doesn't stay running. I have it off and am not seeing that happen, the return spring on the door is good.

Wiring it to the auger motor won't work because there is a delay that keeps the door open to clear the chute.  If there is constant voltage to the solenoid, then it has to be a bad control board, 61003425.

with out spending the 100 on a new part can you put something on hte old one or fix it?

i found a used part , when the ice is selected and the door opens its really loud. Is this normal? i got this frig. used so i am not sure what its all supposed to be like. TIA
