NOT sure why I did not see this until now. If the compressor is WARM and buzzing you are usually good to go, no amp meter needed. If it is HOTTTTTTT not always good or bad. Anyhow with your warm running compressor and your dehumidifying Evap coil
You HAD an insufficient compressor. If the low side was tapped before the removal of the old while running, it would have shown a higher than normal low side reading and on the other hand if the high side was tapped it would have been lower than normal. Would not consider leak or restriction at this point. Anyhow great job that compressor should be fine.
