MSD2456GEW Maytag Refrigerator Not Cooling

Customers Complaint: Refrigerator not running. Food in both the freezer and refrigerator section getting warm. Lights in the refrigerator come on when the door is opened.

I pulled the refrigerator out from the wall and removed the rear panel to see if I had power to the start relay on the side of the compressor. I could smell something burnt after removing the rear panel and suspected the start relay. I unplugged the refrigerator so I could remove the start relay to inspect it. After I removed the start relay from the side of the compressor I could see that it was burnt and needed to be replaced.

After checking the compressor with my ohm meter to make sure it was not shorted out I replaced the start relay with part # 12002784

With the new relay installed I plugged the refrigerator in and the compressor started running like it should.

working on kenmore frig mod 106.57026601 not cooling, removed evap back cover found a block of ice stuck on top right hand side meltdown ice  and put back on i will be back tomorrow
