Storage of new refrigerator in sub-zero garage

Is it ok to store a new refrigerator that is not being used in an unheated garage that can get 15 below 0 F. I've been told I can use a garage kit to use it  between 34 & 55 degrees F. But I'm wondering if I shut it down & just let it sit if I'd be ok. Thanks.

If it's new to you (used) and has water/ice system make sure you discontect the water lines at valve and under freezer door to winterize.

What's going to happen if I attempt to let my 'fridge run in temps below 34 degrees F? I posted this ? at another site & was told the kit is actually made to allow the 'fridge to operate below 34 degrees. Thanks.

only make that i know of having a kit for the garage is frigidaire. not sure of any other makes!

My Frigidaire Gallery top freezer 'frig model # is LGHT1837LE3 purchased new 07/11.  I'm just wondering if I need to unplug the 'frig if temps fall below 34 degrees in the unheated area where it is being used after having installed the "garage heater kit"?  Or will it be ok to just let it run? I know I read somewhere where this kit is supposed to work in temps between 34 - 55, if memory serves me correctly.  (I know the low temp is 34 and I'm pretty sure the high was 55).  A reply at another site said I could use the kit to operate the 'frig BELOW 34 DEGREES, but that was the 1st time I'd heard that.  I don't wanna damage my 'frig. & the temps here in central IL can get way below that. Thanks.

With that being said it would be best if you did not use the refrigerator below that.
At least if it was my refrigerator I would unplug it if it was colder then 34.

Well, I just spoke with Frigidaire/Electrolux, maker of the Garage Heater Kit and their tech rep says  it's o.k. to  allow the 'frig to be plugged in yr. 'round even when temps fall below 34 degrees.
