Whirlpool Oven Will Not Heat

My oven will not heat when set to bake OR broil.  My model number is GS563LXSQ0  I was told that there are separate elements for each function.  Would this be the first place to start in my troubleshooting to replace?  How easy is it to replace these elements?  Thanks for your help!

the model number is for a gas range... there is no elements..? Is this corect?

if both bake and broil do not work and both stopped at the same time... I could check the fuse first for continuity...as it would be very rare  for both elements to burn out at the same time...

I just bought the house so I don't know if they both went out at the same time.  Do you know where the fuse is located?

is your model number correct ? if so it is a Gas Range...

This is what you call a Direct Spark Stove. It has igniters that are powered by 120 volts and it uses a gas distribution valve that works on DC volts. The stove needs verification of ignition or it will lockout the oven. Is the top working? If it won't light the top then the spark module is the problem. if the top works the gas distribution valve is most likely the problem.

The top burners are working.  Is replacing the gas distribution valve something a novice like myself should try to tackle or is this best left to the professionals?

You can do it. Just make sure to unplug it and the gas is off while you are messing with the machine. Wear rubber gloves to prevent any static shoctricity from messing with controls. Grounding strap wouldnt hurt. Bubble test everything once you get it back together. It ain't rocket science.
