May mdg5500 wont start, flashing s/s and wrink prevent on LED

I have a Maytag Neptune MDG5500aww which will not start.  The start/stop and the wrinkle prevent is flashing.  Sometimes if I press the two signal buttons and then the start/stop the machine will start.   I have recently replaced the microprocessor board but this did not help.  The only thing I can get it to do is to go to advertising mode and verify that all LCD illuminate and they do.   Any other help would be appreciated

The dryer actually just started by pressing the signals and start/stop as described as above.  Tried to go to service/diagnostics mode but nothing.  Nor can I increase the time or dry time. 

ugh  frustrating.  Help please.

That could be a faulty door switch. Page 20 shows how to check it.

Thank you for responding.  I have checked the continuity for the door switch and it is ok both NO and NC when I press the switch.   I don't know why the start /stop switch and the wrinkle prevent leds are blinking.  The wrinkle prevent is a very lightly lit compared to when I do an advertising check.

Clean the ribbon going to the touch pad, I have seen 50/50 on boards and touch pad failure. Soft gum eraser works best.
