Whirlpool duet Bellow repaired, now filled with water..... Help!

Hi, I replaced the bellow on my duet washer and it looked like it was working great, but after the cycle, I openend it to find that there is water filled inside the flap of the bellow.   Did I install this incorrectly?  I followed the instructions by the book.  I was hoping to escape the stink and mold by replacing it, now I hope I can fix this big problem.

I know this topic is years old, but I was wondering if anyone has a response?

I have a Whirlpool Duet WFW94HEXW1 with the original gasket.. ..and it has the same symptom now after having been in service for a long time.  I suspect pet hair.  I did a lot of searching, and it's not easy to find someone complaining about the bellows gasket not draining.  Any ideas?

There are some drain holes at the bottom where it attaches to the tub.  It's probably just plugged up.

I saw them, I tried a vacuum with no luck.  What's behind the holes, is it safe to reach in with needle-nosed pliers for example?
