Maytag Neptune stacked washer/dryer disassembly

I need to remove this 12 yr old Neptune stacked w/d from 2nd floor and can not haul it as one unit the way the installers did before home renovation. I can't find the linking bolts/screws that hold the upper dryer box to the washer base. Any suggestions would be great, particularly location.

It's been a long time since I have installed a stacked neptune washer/dryer combo.

From what I recall the dryer basically sat on top the washer and there were to metal brackets that connected the two from the rear of the unit.

I also recall installing some neptune unit that come from the factory as one unit and the washer and dryer could not be separated so it had to be moved as one piece.

I tried to find a copy of your owners manual at this URL to see what it said about installing it, but did not have any luck.

If you look at the back of the unit and don't see two mounting brackets connecting the dryer to the washer you may have a model that has to be moved as one unit.

I think you are right, this may not come apart without complete dis-assembly. There is only an external security bracket as the parts list calls it. Taking off some external panels and the control panel I can see internal bolts but they don't appear to be connecting the dryer cabinet to the washer cabinet. I may try removing those, getting to the back ones will be a challenge.

Did you see them unpack it from the box? The one piece units come in one box of coarse and the two piece neptune stackers come with the washer packed in one box and the dryer in another box.

Very heavy. It came in one box, 2 NFL linemen sized men struggled to put in place.

I found 2 clips that once bent I could slide the drier cabinet forward and it looks like now just disconnect wiring.
