oh man...i was afraid of that. Could I have gotten a bad thermostat?

I'm with Whirlpooltech on this. It sounds like your voltage is dropping off. Check voltage where your cord connects to the dryer. Check it while it's running and has a load. Check your outlet and breaker. Pull the breaker out and check the busbar.

well, one of the thermostats in the heater housing is blown. You can actually see where it melted. The company I bought it from is replacing the heater assembly and both the thermostats. Once I receive them on Monday and put back together, I will give an update. Sounds like it was just a bad heater of thermostat that they sent. At least thats what I think.
