We have a five year old LG Stove. All the controls are touch pads. A week after we bought the house 2 months ago (with appliances) two of the burners stopped working. We researched the web and found the info below. We tried this to no avail. As of today, none of the touch pads are working - therefore no burners, no oven, not even the clock. The entire control panel is blank. Does any one have any suggestions?
First unplug the range. Then just take off the top back panel. (I had to take out the top 5 screws on each side of the lower panel to get the top panel out as it has a flange on the bottom). There are two ribbons with blue clips on the top left of the board. The clips have holders on each side that have to be pried out to remove the clip. I know this because I broke one off taking the first one off. It doesn't seem to affect the operation though. The clips slide independent of the ribbon, so slide them up the ribbon. Now take the ribbon out of the slot. I just wiped it off with a paper towel. Slide it back in, making sure it is square to the slot and push the clip back in. Repeat for the other ribbon. The whole thing took less than 20 minutes and now everything works.
