« on: July 11, 2011, 09:06:27 PM »
Hi,

I have a Kenmore 90 Series Model 110.66912  that is stuck on super hot and doesn't shut off, would you know what is causing this?

Thanks,
Gary

What I would do is locate the control thermostat and change that sucker. yer model number is a strange one indeed. If I had a good model number I could give ya the part number.

Your model number is missing three digits.

Maybe you got the model number from the owners manual instead of the model/serial number tag that is located on the dryer?
Hope you find our site helpful.

Your control thermostat: Cycling thermostat
Location: Click on pick to enlarge
While you are doing that remove the filter housing give it a good clean.

Thanks JW,

How do you get to the components, are those pictures from the back of the dryer?  Do you pull it out from the wall and turn it around?  Or are they going in from the top like the washer?

Thanks,

What i do is take the dryer outside and put it on a table. I have one in the back yard right now. It is full of lint. I am gonna go outside and tear it apart to show you where everything is.
My father in law has a GE dryer that is eating his clothes and the washer timer has to be manually turned to every cycle so i am gonna give him a calypso washer I have in back and this dryer.  The trailer park he lives in charges extra if he goes over a certain limit for water, so this washer will come in handy with water saving. So he gonna get a new dryer and washer ,new to him anyways

More from the swamp. When I took the filter housing off that was the revealer of what I think your dryer might have and that is this:

All that stuff came out the filter housing. You need to also remove the control dust cover and cleanthat compartment out

Everythangs clean A quick continuity check on all components and if your dryer was nasty as this you probably don't need to buy any parts. Just clean that sucker up. The skinny white component with 2 small wies attached is the thermal limit. It melts when the temp exceeds 350f inside the blower housing. Below it is your control thermostat.

I made preserves this week, great stuff growing in the back yard right by the shop. LOL Here is a pick of the belt. The herb garden is doing great. The birds are pecking away at my blueberrys. Itty bitty boy came up missing. Gator probably got him. Never found any remains :tickedoff:
