dryer gets hot, but not drying!

I havea whirlpool dryer that I just moved to a new house and its not working right. it gets hot, but the clothes just stay wet/damp. We have shortened the vent, took off the back and cleaned it out for lint, we had the maintenace come and clean out our vent and check to make sure its open. This dryer is only about 3 years old and didnt have a problem before this. Anyone have any suggestions? Really dont want to pay for a service visit if I dont have to!
