MAYTAG ATLANTIS - BELT INSTALLATION

I replaced the pump on my washer which caused me to have to replace the belt. I put the belt back on but does not seem to be on tight and I'm assuming that is the reason why my washer shakes during the spin cycle. How do I install the belt and tighten the belt so that my washer will not shake during the spin cycle?? PLEASE HELP!!

Sounds like it's not level. Lift the rear of the machine about 2-3 inches off the floor and set it down. Self leveling. Does not sound right, because replacing a belt shouldn't have any thing to do with out of balance. Machine has an automatic tension on it, no adjustment needed.
