LG Refrigerator Error - ER DH
« on: June 30, 2011, 03:07:38 AM »
Hello Forum,

I have an LG side by side refrigerator, model number LSC27926ST which is displaying an error code ER DH on the display panel. I've done searches on here finding out that it has something to do with the defroster fuse/sensor. I've looked around as to where to find this fuse or sensor and cannot seem to find it.

Things I have tried:
1. I've tried unplugging the refrigerator for a while and then plugging it back in. It works, but the message comes back again.
2. I've tried defrosting the freezer, but unplugging the whole unit for about 12 hours. The error message still comes back.

Can anybody help me with this issue?

Thank you A LOT in advance!

The error keeps coming back because the problem is still there .I'm on the run however your defrost assembly is in the freezer by your evaporator.I'll look it up tonight , the part number for the assembly is ap4513414. I wont have time to check it on the error code till later. Was the ref cooling.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

Yeah, the fridge and the freezer were both cooling perfectly normal, no problems

The error will be the heater or the defrost assembly , likely the later. You have to remove the cover to get to the evap.

I replaced the controller like you suggested, and the problem still comes back. However, I left the refrigerator and freezer unplugged for almost 5 days. The error didn't come on till like 10 hours later or so.

Does it matter where i zip tie the sensor onto the evap? as long as its on the evap right?

Also, is it harmful to continue plugging in the refrigerator? This is only a 2-3 year old refrigerator.

thanks again!

If the defrost sensor was replaced and heater ohms then your control board is causing the error. is the evaporator frosted up.

I looked up your model number and the part number for the control board is: EBR58010501

niobrara, I don't see many LG appliances up here. Any harm in not replacing the board if the refrigerator is cooling ok?

The last time I opened the plastic cover, the evap was indeed frosted up. What do you mean when you say "the heater ohms".

Right now I have the fridge unplugged as I don't know if there may be any harm to the unit.

And wowers! That's a lot for a circuit board! I would really hope that that's not the problem. Can I check some way to see of it is Indeed the circuit board?  Is there Something else that you think might be wrong?

Thanks again!

If all the unit is doing is showing a error code , and is working .It will not hurt running it. The code means there is a heater error. But  if the unit is defrosting it is working.I have replaced quite a few defrost sensors and have had one that the control shorted the new sensor out as soon as it went into defrost.Let the unit run a few days and check if the evap is icing up.

Ok. I will give it try and keep you informed. If it doesn't ice up then does that mean everything is fine ignore the error?

What does it mean if it ices up? The defrost heater is bad?

Thanks
