Whirlpool washing machine

Our washing machine was not agitating or spinning so we changes the switch however now the machine will agitate and drain but will not spin. Any ideas what we can check next? Also, when its on the spinning cycle it still makes noise like its in the spinning cycle but the tub is not spinning at all.

Sorry, not sure the correct name but the lid switch I guess you would call it

Remove the cabinet and check the motor coupler.

Thank you AJ. I will have my husband take a look at it this evening. In the video is shows you how to replace it so when we check it will it be obvious if it needs replacement?

Most of the time it's obvious that it needs to be replaced as you will see parts of it laying on the floor under the washer.

Sometimes just the center is worn out and the shaft slips inside of the coupler.

If the washer agitates ok then chances are the coupler is ok, but let us know what you find.
