Limiter for 6"burner

I had a Brain Fart Monday!!!!

got a 6" replacement burner and Limiter for the Maytag stove.  I thought I had the proper Circuit breaker off , but I didn't?

Installed the new burner with limiter and when the red wire to the limiter hit ground It turned off the proper breaker off in a hurry.

Now both 6" burner's will not work.

I looked at the burners and tested them  and the burners are OK.

What did I burn out???

The limiter??

or the Controllers???

Any way to test the limiters???

Here's your schematic.  The red wire is a direct connection to the terminal with parallel connections along the way.  If it was short to ground you didn't go through any switches so the switches should be okay.  If shorted to the line 1 hot wire you may have taken out some switches. Look for burnt wiring and use your meter.  Check L1 to H1 and L2 to H2 for continuity at the switches.  The limiter is in series with the element.  Check your same color wires at the elements, yellow to yellow, purple to purple and black to black. On the dual burner check tan to red and yellow to red.

I checked the schematic and fixed the burner that was originally out. (Right rear)

When I shorted to ground the other 6" burner stopped working.(left Front)

I checked all the connections, and every thing is wired properly.
I checked with the volt meter and the control changes the voltage to the element like the other 6"

I then went and got a replacement burner and limiter . replaced it but still have the same problem - No heat.
when I turn the controller on the panel up the red light on the panel lights but nothing happens on the burner or the heat indicator on the glass top.

Any Suggestions would b appreciated>>

If you have 240vac to the burner, it should work.  Are checking hot to hot or hot to ground?  Since you've already replaced the burner and the wiring looks good, the only thing left is the infinite switch.
