Kenmore Elite washer won't spin

Get the cover off the tranny and inspect the main drive wheel for wear. It is made of plastic. Click on pic to enlarge. Video shows worn out main drive gear:

If the gear and pinion are fine then remove the main drive gear and look for a very smashed down spin pawl. The part looks like this:

So its not the clutch?

Before ya buy any parts make sure you ain't missing anythang. Do the inspection

To know if it's operating correctly, you have to spin it with your finger fast enough to engage the clutch...........just kidding! Replace the clutch.
