MGD9700AWM burner goes out

I just took the machine apart, the flame will come on for anywhere from 20 seconds to 1 minute, for some strange reason it seemed to stay hot for longer when empty, I check cont on all of the parts on the burner as well as the gas coils and they all have continuity.  Looking in from the front, there is a half-shell piece of plastic with 2 electrical items screwed into it, I believe one of these to be a thermostat of some sorts, the one I feel is the thermostat does not have any continuity, I'm wondering if the problem is this, could it be just that simple.
Forgot to note but the vent pipe all 18" of it is very clean.

If the coils u mention sit on top of the gas valve, they quite often break down with heated. I carry them under pt #12001349.
