Replacing Whirlpool direct washer clutch - C clip flew off and can't find it!

Just like the title says. While I was replacing the clutch on my Whirlpool direct drive washer the stupid c-clip that holds the boot looking plastic piece on flew off. I spent a solid two hours searching for it in my garage and can't for the life of me find it. Needless to say I'm extraordinarily frustrated as I've already been down a week with the washer waiting on the kit to come.

How in the world do I get a new one of these? I can't seem to find any mention of it online.

Since "the boot looking plastic piece" isn't too specific, let me rephrase.

The brake cam c-clip is the more specific/correct time I'm guessing.

Part number is W10083200.  I don't seem to have any old basket drives right now.  Otherwise I'd just send you one.  Here's a basket drive breakdown in case you lose anything else.

Well, I ended up finding it. It had landed on top of the intake manifold of a project car in the garage. Didn't even think to look there as I could've sworn I heard it bounce along concrete and thus figured it was on ground level.

So with my joy of finding the c clip and getting the clutch stuff back onto the gear box, I now have a separate problem.

The thrust washer on the clutch "bottoms out" onto the c clip area of the brake cam before the gear box is flush with the mounting brackets. I'm making sure that the brake cam isn't interfering/hitting the spring in the clutch. I know the thrust washer/lower c clip are on the proper place on the shaft. What gives?

The wash basket has dropped down.  Turn the brake actuator to release the brake and push it back up.

What exactly is the brake actuator?

Oh I think I figured it out. I just pushed on the brake cam while simultaneously pushing up and that did it! Now to see if I can get the rest of it back together
