Whirlpool Dryer Not Heating
« on: March 29, 2008, 05:33:22 PM »
Model # WED5800SW0, this dryer would not heat on any of the settings. After removing the rear panel to check the normal failure items (thermal overload devices) I pulled the tech sheet only to find this unit runs the red wire (L1 side of the heater) to the heating element through the normal timer switch as well as the temperature selector switch on the control panel. Did a quick electrical check to find those switch contacts were open preventing current flow. Replaced the temperature switch and now it heats fine.
