Condensation of Refridgerant Line

I have a Sears side-by-side refridgerator/freezer.  It seems since my compressor was replaced under warranty I have had a condensation problem on one of the lines exiting the compressor.  It is so bad, moisture in the air condenses on the line and drips on the floor causing a small puddle at the back of the unit.  There is no insulation on the line.  What could be causing this problem?

Does the line build frost?  Could be overcharged slightly...

Yes it does frost over for about a minute when the compressor kicks on.  It then slowly clears from the compressor on out.  You then see water droplets forming on the line and dripping in the rear of the unit.

Sounds slightly overcharged to me, hard to tell without putting gages on it.

Can I try releasing some refrigerant to see if the problem alleviates?  How would i do this?  Thanks.

How long ago did they replace the compressor?  You should be able to call the tech back out and have them fix the problem.

It was last year.  I could try calling Sears back but it was just outside the warranty period when he replaced the compressor.  Not sure they would do it but maybe it's worth a try.

You can wrap the lines with cork insulation tape to stop the condensation.
If they left a service valve on the line you could release a spurt or 2 of refrigerant to stop the problem.

Why did some clear liquid come out instead of gas when I tried that?  Was it compressor oil?

Was the valve on a copper filter drier about the size of a hotdog?

No, actually its a schrader valve on a line coming out of the compressor.
