Couldn't bring up the model but would love to see the lid switch assembly. I think I may know what the problem is. Can you post a photo?

Didn't have time to remove the lid to get at the lid switch assembly but here are some pics of the lid switch from the outside.  Should the switch button stick out farther when the lid is closed?  Note the gap.

I also tested my Maytag washer and found the tub will fill with water even if the lid is open but it won't go into any of the cycles until the id is closed.  So it looks like the lid switch might be bad.  I'll try squirting electrical contact cleaner to see if that fixes it otherwise I'll replace or repair the switch.

Do you know where I can get one these old-style lid switches?  Are they in the same box with those water valves?

Okay, here's some pics of the lid switch mechanism.  Is the actual switch underneath the timer?  I didn't have time to remove the timer and check but attached are pics showing the linkage.
