LG electric dryer strange code
« on: May 14, 2011, 02:38:37 PM »
 Hi Folks,
My dryer runs, heats, but does dry clothes completely. Ran diagnostics form manual (found here, THANKS!). I get the code "18:FO" followed by "UO1". This flashes between the two codes. Looking for a clue before I tear it apart and start ordering parts.(Assuming I don't use a crowbar on it first!) Oh the unit is just over five years old and , of course, is out of warranty.  Thanks for any help!:ticked off:

Read a little more of the manual. It will tell you how to advance it.

I have read the manual. I cannot find the code "UO1" listed. Also the indicator for "cooling" remains illuminated when running on "dry". Does anyone know what this code means???

Hold down on the 'More Time' and 'Less Time' buttons and press the 'Power' button.  if it comes up with tE1 or tE2 you have a thermistor error.

So far:
Cleaned the machine, removed all collected lint, including from the outside exhaust duct work.
Ran diagnostic, everythng appears ok except the code "18:FO" and "UO1" which flash back and forth.

Any other ideas, anyone?

Thanks!

Check for a loose connection from the power cord to the dryer terminal or a loose ground wire to the machine.
