Maytag Slope Front Gas Dryer time on display jumps

No error codes in diagnostics. Set 40 min timed dry, at around 36 minutes wrinkle release LED comes on, time jumps down to 18 minutes, time and time dry LEDs go off,runs a few more minutes and jumps back to 18 min. Also some random chirps. Unit heats and cycles properly; can read temps in Diagnostics. Looks like another controller issue, but not sure. Comments?
