kenmore washer wont spin out

I'm having the same problem as other posters with the Kenmore 80 series washer - the tub won't spin. The rest of the cycle is working fine (ie water is emptying out, etc). i have checked ,,clutch,,,,,spin gear,,,,door switch seems to click. not the coupleing either.
whats left?

the washer is model #110-25862400 and it seems to wash just fine.

The ear on the brake cam could be broken.
The tranny could have an oil leak and making the clutch slip.
 The main drive gear could be worn smooth and slipping.
The spin pawl may be smashed down and not grabbing.

bypassed switch directly.....connected wires ....will that do?

I had my whole dang washer torn apart and it ended up being a stripped drive coupler. It looked fine from a glance but it was slippin under a load. I had the lidswitch bypassed and that didn't do it. Then I swapped transmissions and that didn't do it. I took the tub out and found nothing. Then I took the pump off and ran it with the pump off and the motor was strong. I took a closer look at the coupling and discovered it was slipping.

The washer will not spin with bad switch.

although, it also wouldn't quote: "ie water is emptying out, etc"
After the water empties out, try opening the Lid for about 5 seconds.
Close the Lid, will it now Spin ?
