My crosley refrigerator is about 5 yrs old.  Last week i started getting this smell to it. I cleaned it out to make sure it wasn't something inside the refrigerator. The smell stayed there afterwards, and after a couple days the refrigerator quit cooling and the freezer still works.  Do you know what this could be?

Check to see if you have frost build up on the back wall of the freezer. frost can block the air flow and you will get no cooling in the refrigerator...

To test this remove all the food and turn it off (unplug)  for 24 hr . with the doors open.. after all the frost is gone.. plug it back in and see how it works ... if it is a defrost problem then it will work fine for a week or two.

Might be made by Frigidare, post model number. I have seen a lot of freezer fan failure in frigidare top mounts. That would cause burning or hot smell and refrigerator section not cooling.
