GE front loader goes straight to pump

Whenever I switch on my machine it starts making a beeping noise, then the pump come on and the door locks. The only way I can stop the pump is by unplugging. It does not let me go into test mode either. It is clearly detecting water level at overflow even though the machine is empty. I have tried replacing the water switch and this did not help. I tried disconnecting the hose from the switch to see if it is getting a false reading from pressure in the hose.. This didn't work either.. There is no noticeable broken or loose wiring. I am totally baffled.

Can somebody give me some suggestions as to the cause?

Did you blow through the tubing to get rid of sediment, resecure the hose and pump out water in the machine before retrying?

Your suggestion indirectly helped me solve the problem. I was in the process of taking off the front panel to better access the hose when I saw that one of the harness connectors to the door lock had come loose. Reconnecting it solved my problem and the machine is now working fine. Who would have thought that a disconnection at the door lock would cause the machine to think it had a high water level status.

It is a good lesson for fault diagnosis that the causes are not always obvious. Thank you, JJW, for trying to help.
