GE Washer will not agitate, fills, spins and drains.

This one stumps me.  I tested the washer simply by putting it in spin and it worked.  The lady told me that it would fill but would not go into agitate.  So I unplugged the unit, took the front off and inspected the lid switch and the belt, found nothing wrong.  Then put it back together and plugged it in.  It must have reset?  I put it through a cycle and it worked.  She used it for 3 weeks no issues.   Now it is doing the same thing.  Any ideas?

The lid switch assembly is both electrical and mechanical. They are troublesome. Try jumping out that puppy.

Also check the water level switch.
It may fill and stop the water fill but not send a signal to the timer to start agitation.

I m not having much luck on this one.  I have done all of the mentioned above.  The strange thing is if I unplug it and plug it back in it will complete a cycle but then go back to no agitation.  Is there some sort of electronic control on this model?  This is a basic unit.

Unplug the timer and inspect the molex plug for corrosion. The timer is mechanical. Nothing electronic about this model. The water level switches on these are notorious for going out like Jumpy says. Check that too.
