Hotpoint Dishwasher will not drain

Long story short, I had to unlatch my dishwasher the other night just after it started to drain (just installed new disposal and did not tighten the drain hose where it connects to disposal  ) When I started the dishwasher back up it would not, and still will not, drain. Everything else is ok. I have been looking at message boards for possible problem. The solenoid seems to be working fine and motors and pumps are running. How can I tell if it us just the piston and nut assembly for the check valve other than just replacing it?

Make sure you removed the knock out in the new disposer.  Right where the dishwasher line hooks up, there is a plastic piece that needs to be knocked out with a flat blade screwdriver so water can pass by.  Check that first.

The knock out was the ticket. First disposal install and I had no instructions because I bought a display model. Lesson learned.

LOL!  Glad you got it fixed bud!  Can't tell ya how many times I charged someone 75 bucks plus tax to do that.

That and flipping the breaker in an older home on a no heat call on a dryer.....  (only no tax in Idaho on labor)
