Exhaust fan on AC unit will come on and run for 1 to 2 minutes and then shut down; compressor continues to run.  Fan doesn't lock up or anything just stops, it will turn with a prod but not engage.  Have replaced capacitors with no luck.  My guess is fan motor but before I try to find one for this old thing I wanted to try and save it.  The fan has a sticker saying it has a thermal overload but got me where it is.  Any help would be wonderful.

I am assuming you mean the condensor fan motor if you already replaced the capacitor with the proper one check to make sure you have 220v to the fan when it stops it is probally the motor but could also be the wiring or contactor hope this helps

You have a bad fan motor.

You mention "Thermal Overload", it is inside the motor. Take a brush and clean the vents in the motor end plates. Check for oil ports (rubber caps cover them) and put in about 10 drops of light weight oil (sewing machine).
