As for replacing the bearing, I have yet to figure out how to do it myself

but I usually end up replacing the entire back end of the tub. If there is a lot of up and down play with the inner tub, it could also be the spider has broken off from the inner tub. In which you can replace that as well.
When you are taking apart the tub, and you take out the inner tub out, check the back of it. There will be 2 screws holding each of the 3 arms the spider is made up of, to the inner tub. If even 1 of those screws are loose, it will affect the tub.
