Noisy bearings in wash tub.

I am having bearing problems in my washer. LG is so hard to work with, I can't find a repair man willing to do the work. I had one look at it and give me a price on fixing it. parts alone was going to be $700, if it needed everything he said, but backed out of doing it because of LG customer service. The 'inner basket', 'outer tub', bearing ,and seal isn't covered under warranty. Someone posted elsewhere you could ordrer one from MCM. Is the bearing and seal already in it? Could someone with mechanical experience and quite a few tools tackle this? I'm to the point that I don't care if it voids the warranty on the whole machine or not.

Hi, I demanded a repair manual from LG(which they didn't want me to have) after which they told me if I touched it my "warranty" (that covers nothing useful) would be voided. I told them they could stick their warranty where the sun doesn't shine, ordered $75 worth of parts(after-market of course) and fixed it in about three hours. Needless to say, I will never own anything with LG wrote on it anywhere. Thanks for the reply.

Glad you got it fixed. I wonder what the model number of your washer is. We may have had the manual for you to download, for free of coarse.

ordered $75 worth of parts

Where did you get your bearings?  Did you replace the tub seal?

Got them at Repair Clinic. No on the tub seal. I was careful separating it, cleaned it, put a light film of vaseline on it, and slapped it back together. Between the inner and outer bearings and the seal, it was around $75. You can get the outer drum assembly W/bearings and seal in it but if the bearings didn't have a come-a-part and damage the housing it's okay. The only thing I regret not doing is putting a little loctite on the bearings to make sure they stay in the housing.
